Music & Drama Ministry

The Music & Drama Ministry sponsors three adult choral groups, a Junior Youth Choir, and an English hand bell ensemble. In addition to performing during worship services, music groups present special concerts, cantatas and programs throughout the year. The Chancel Choir has also sung at nursing homes and has participated in choir exchanges with other churches.

Music Ministries includes an active and participatory musical network, with opportunities for all skill levels. In addition to providing music for Sunday morning worship and for special services, choir participation offers musical and spiritual growth and many opportunities for fellowship. The director for Music Ministries is Charles Moore.

We have several choirs. The adult choirs are the Chancel Choir, the Joyful Noise, the Voices of Inspiration. We also have a hand bell choir, the Wholly Ringers. Our Junior Youth Choir (JYC) is open to all children, from 3rd through 8th grade.
 
The main church choir is the Chancel Choir, which sings at most 9:30 a.m. worship services from September to June. We sing a variety of music including contemporary, traditional, classical and gospel. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday nights at 7:30. We are always looking for new members. Feel free to drop by. The Voices of Inspiration is a select a-cappella choir that performs four to six times during the year.

The Joyful Noise is an occasional adult choir that performs upbeat, contemporary music three to four times each year. Anyone, regardless of ability and training, is welcome to participate. For more information, contact Charles Moore.

The Wholly Ringers hand bell ensemble, directed by Ellen Alde, rehearses weekly and performs six to eight times during the year. If you can count, you can learn to play bells. We are currently seeking new members. For more information call the church office, email Ellen, or stop by Monday night at 7:30!

The Junior Youth Choir, directed by Frank Potempa, consists of third through eighth graders who enjoy singing. They rehearse on Sunday mornings from 10:45am to 11:30am, perform monthly at church and also attend an annual weekend winter retreat to begin planning their spring musical.
