Ellen Alde, a 30-year member of First Congregational, is the director of the Wholly Ringers Handbell Choir.

She joined the church's adult Handbell Choir in 1980 and became director of the combined high school/adult Handbell Choir in 1993.

A high school science teacher, she holds a graduate degree in education.
