Frank Potempa and his wife, Karen, have been members of First Congregational Church of Des Plaines since 1991. They also have two children who grew up in the church. Frank has taken on the directorship of the FCC Junior Youth Choir after being a Sunday School teacher for the last nine years. Frank's past experience with music and theater is vast and includes positions with many community groups. Most recently he was the set designer and technical director for the 2007 Niles Park District Figure Skating Show and for Melody Vasquez' Flamenco Dance Co. Frank is a graduate of Taft High School in Chicago. While attending Taft Frank majored in Band and Orchestra. He also pursued his training in electronics from Devry Institute of Technology. He has continued with extended education at both Triton and Oakton Community Colleges. Frank has been and employee of Siemens Building Technologies, Inc. for the last eight years and presently works as a Senior Project Manager for the local Siemens branch office. Frank sings with a Norwegian male chorus, "Normennenes Singing Society". He also is fluent in guitar, electric bass and tenor saxophone. Frank enjoys working with youth. He has been involved with two Cub Scout Packs in School District 62, and has been certified as a Boy Scout leader and District Commissioner for the N. W. Suburban Council. At church he has chaperoned the Pilgrim Fellowship youth group program as well. |
